With over 35 years of experience in the energy sector, I have developed comprehensive expertise in commercial management and contract negotiations in support of the industry.

Throughout my career, I have worked with leading energy companies on the NCS and UKCS — contributing to strategic decisions, financial planning, and complex contract negotiations where the outcome has determined real commercial position.

My understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of the energy industry means I can provide advice that is grounded in how these agreements and assets actually work — not just how they appear on paper.

"Now, as a commercial advisor, I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and experience to help clients achieve their strategic and operational goals."

I have acted as lead negotiator in support of offshore field third party services, tie-in and processing services, transportation and terminal services, land agreements, and owner agreements including Joint Operating Agreements, Unitization and Unit Operating Agreements, shareholder agreements, and infrastructure construction and operating agreements.

My deepest expertise comes from the Ekofisk and Norpipe system — where I was responsible for managing the commercial agreements on behalf of the operators, covering more than 50 years of history and complex cross-border matters. Few advisors have operated at this level, in this system, for this long.

What I bring to clients is not a methodology. It is the accumulated commercial experience of a career spent at the table on the transactions that shaped the North Sea energy sector — the knowledge of when to hold, when to move, and how to read what the other side will do next.

"Every engagement receives my personal attention. Clients work with me directly — from the first conversation to the final outcome."

My experience spans energy majors, infrastructure operators, offshore service companies, and industrial clients across Norway and internationally. The common thread is not sector or size — it is the need for senior, substantive commercial advice at a moment that matters.

Engagement model

My services are offered via MP Energy Advisory on an exclusive basis. This arrangement provides access to a broader team of specialists where the scope of an engagement requires it — without changing the personal, senior nature of the work.

The principles that guide the work

Presence, not process

Frameworks don't negotiate — people do. The value of experience lives in judgement, not methodology. The advice comes from someone who has been in the room — and made these decisions before.

Clarity in complexity

Complex deals require clear thinking, not complex advice. The goal is always to make difficult situations comprehensible — and to give clients the confidence to act decisively. Less analysis, more decision.

Outcomes, not outputs

The measure of good advisory is not the quality of the report. It is the quality of the result. CS Commercial Advisory is measured by what clients achieve — not what they receive.
